I wish idiots would learn you do NOT videotape while you are on a rollercoaster. I have a friend who got her nose broken because some moron thought it was okay to record the ride and his camera flew out of his hand and hit her in the back. It's dangerous. STOP IT!

its so funny to me to see boys getting scared on roller coaster rides. my first roller coaster ride was at sea world in orlando fl. i was about 8 years old and the ride was called journey to atlantis. that was scary but i didnt even cry and they dropped u from probably 4 yards high (i have no idea how high tht is) and u get splashed by the water. i probably wasnt tht scared since i closed my eyes most of the time. the ride was indoors and dark. theyre weird mermaids n other things.

shouldn he start ofr with a calmer ride for his first rollercoaster. start small then climb up to the big rides

I think it is ok for those who are very seasoned roller coaster rider. They are very used to the ride and they can control or hold the camera properly. i guess your friend is just unlucky to have met a non-seasoned rider holding a video cam. But no matter how seasoned, it still a must to strap the cam tightly to your wrist, as accident do happen at time. There are many successful video on youtube still, isn't it? so it means it quite safe provided you know how to hold the cam properly. Cheers
