  • YOu're dead wrong, dude. You DO indeed play jazz, that's the real stuff.

Thanks for cuttting to the chase- just like the old masters.

  • This guy is so modest/humble that he doesnt even want to brag about his teaching skills. All he says is how to "make'em think you play jazz", when he actually teaches a lot better than many other teachers/books do. A real gentleman.

  • @slapmyfunkybass I agree with you. jazz can be a very difficult if not near impossible style to teach, although jazz artist Jerry Coker has tried to teach improvisation. Please see his book, "Improvising jazz"(1964).

  • @taino20 in defence to other teachers, jazz can be a very complex style to teach.... how do you ever start to teach someone improvisation? i remember that took me years to understand, i would loop the same four chords for over an hour, just playing different notes, trying to work out what worked and what didnt, now i know, but i couldnt explain it

  • @crjoker that's called smooth - voice leading if i'm correct, playing chords without jumping all over your piano -> because of inversions. A must in Jazz. You are correct.

  • oh great video!

  • Thanks for video very informative, good teaching and simple like that.

  • Some amazing players have odd technique and that's why I would have to disagree with any comments about fingering if the flow and feel is there. The idea of wanting to share ideas to help others, demonstrates a true gift of a natural teacher, in my humble opinion. Well done.

  • you can tell he doesnt play piano as a major, just because how his pinky finger just hangs for most of his playing :P
