  • hello from the sprawling metropolis of Dothan, Al.

question. i've seen tons of cottonmouth on my dads farm which has a 10 acre spring fed pond. however i've never seen a rattlesnake anywhere. ever. are moccasins and rattlers found in the same moist habitat ?

  • @BleedingBoner Good question. A place where I witness tons of cottonmouth is very near, a half mile or so, from where I found one Eastern Diamondback and I found another rattler next to a bayou, which definately had moccasin. The habitat though, is slightly different, generally. But the reason you haven't seen rattlers has less to do with the habitat difference and more to do with the fact of their rarity. Although I saw huge numbers of Pygmy Rattlers in the panhandle, only a few Easterns.

  • your videos are awesome......but I am scared of snakes.....

  • Thanks so much for your kind words. I loved making those vidoes. I absolutely love nature and the outdoors.

  • Thanks a lot for your interest. I filmed these in a swamp between Destin and Panama City Florida. In fact, I just had a pygmy rattler in my backtard the other day. The time of the year and location are factors in the search.

  • WOW you get wayy too close for MY comfort, not sure about yours xD

    Nice video!

  • Nice! we camped on st. george island. We went to get firewood, a ranger told us to check our tent & campsite well because the "the moccasin brothers" local terrors, slithered thru our campsite and stayed awhile. Rucus! i spent most the night sittn on top of the picnic table. hopped it when I had to. every walking doggie stopped and sniffed the exact spot where they had sat in the road before coming in. I kept a stout stick in my hands and did not sleep wel loll! it was very cold too! GB

  • @mikecatadjuster Do you wear snake chaps when you go on your adventures ? I saw 3 moccasins this past wk/end at my dads in less than an hour and have since given serious thought to buying a pair.

  • I'm so glad you realize these snakes aren't evil and don't chase you. I hate when people do think that. this video just proves that.
