"Brass in Pocket" is a 1979 single and a song from the 1980 album, "Pretenders", by the Pretenders. The album was released on Real Records in the UK and Sire Records in the U.S. and was produced by Chris Thomas (except for "Stop Your Sobbing", produced by Nick Lowe). The album was the debut album for the band and shot to #1 on the UK Albums Chart. The album peaked at #9 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and is RIAA certified platinum in sales. Rolling Stone Magazine has rated the album #155 on it's list of the 500 all-time best albums.
"Brass in Pocket" was written by Chrissie Hynde and James Honeyman-Scott. The single was produced by Chris Thomas and simultaneously released on the Real and Sire labels. The single topped the UK Singles Chart and peaked at #14 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The music video for the single was the seventh played during MTV's debut on 1 August 1981. The three gentlemen driving up to the diner in the pink Cadillac are Pretenders band members.

Excellent audio and its great that you have the original video. Its bittersweet to see the original band members knowing how Honeyman-Scott and Farndon ended up.
