  • @:55.......you can hear him "sing" into the horn to get that raspy sound........for those who would like to know

  • To finish my point, have you ever heard of Dexter Gordon, Stanley Turrentine, Hank Mobley, Sonny Stitt (by the way, Sonny Stitt would have made it point to embarrass Igor Butman at a jam session), even contemporaries such as Virginia Mayhew, Chris Potter, Joshua Redman, Branford Marsalis (truly you can't think Branford couldn't hold his own with Igor Butman), Joe Lovano and there are several fine tenorists I forgetting. I think you might need to read to learn more about jazz saxophonists.

  • It is incredible, but also you have to keep in mind that while not all saxophonists show it off, the range of the saxophone is quite open ended, and with enough practice any saxophonist can reach this range. Another note is he appears to be bitting the reed, which means that he isn't obtaining the notes through proper means you are trained to use through voicing. Sort of cheating....but I guess if the product is good it doesn't matter how you get it....

  • How do you make that assessment? What is your criteria other than your personal preference? By the way have you ever heard of Michael Brecker, John Coltrane, Jerry Bergonzi, James Carter, Johnny Griffin and yes even Sonny Rollins. There is no need to disparage the iconic Sonny Rollins just because you enjoy the music of Igor Butman. I don't think Igor would tell you that he is the BEST tenor saxophone player that ever played or lived. Come on learn a little more about jazz saxophone.

  • neee shadow drygaya no toje klasnaya temka

  • this guy is the greatest tenor player that ever lived....if you do not agree, then you are either prejudice or ignorant; or both..period. you can take Rollins and through him in the garbage next to egor.

  • я думал это называется shadow of your smile....))

  • Oh my god... How can you have such a range on Tenor sax??? BRAVISSSIMO!!!
