aaaa even if it takes me 10 years I WILL get enough money together to learn to fly!!! lol I've grown tired of just sitting down here and just dreaming around.... Glider and helicopter is the only two aircraft type i never set in :( Great vid... By the way, who are the artists? The music is very relaxing! Please tell me.. thanks

Beautiful flying which used to be even more beautiful when gliders were launched with the help of rubber ropes util 1970-ties, when the top of the ZAR mountain was levelled to make place for a reservoir of water for the local powerplant. Those days it was a true "bird" flying. I made my 5h solo flight requirement for "silver" soaring there on a wave at almost 3000m. Arc Rajtar

Annyi videóhoz írtam kommentet, hogy ilyen meg olyan szuper volt a repülés, hogy lehet, hogy tavasszal kisebb tömeg fog tolongani Farkashegyen... :P egyébként, nézd meg ezt: "Ka-7 Rhönadler", olyanban, illetve ABBAN a nemzeti színű farkú gépben (HA-5064) repültünk mi is... de nem rólunk készült a videó.. :)

@Attilaakiraly ó, hát hasonlóan vagyok én is, mondjuk a diploma még hátravan, de munka az fontos lenne. Én egyébként nem szándékozom pilóta lenni, de néha kinézek majd Farkashegyre, van ott ismerős, és múltkor marha jó volt, amikor utasként repülhettem! Ajánlom neked is, tavasszal menj ki, ha szépen megkéred őket, elvisznek egy iskolakörre! :)

thermal lift is the actual correct wording: being "thermal", it implies the reason for the lift: differnce in temperature. warmer air is lighter than colder, therefore it rises - if the temperature diffence is high enough.

"wave" is created by mechanical change of the airflow direction, most commonly by obstacles like mountains. you can get nice wave in conditions without any "thermal" lift , e.g. air getting warmer at higher altitude -typical warm front.

@murks1990 how do you define thermals? a thermal is rising air, isn't it? so what does the air do in a wave - it is rising!

of course waves are created in an other way than "normal" thermals but the air is rising up in a wave and in a thermal - so a wave is a special form of a thermal, i guess
