Yes, and you have to watch out for people with very blue eyes as they can really cast the Mati. Since the Mati could unintentionally be cast through envy or even compliments, mom like any other good Greek mother if her time would pin a tiny Mati pendant (filakton) on our undershirts...this is to ward of f the Mati. This is just superstition & the church highly decries it but people may still carry the charm as a trinket or piece of jewelry. Maybe the Papa's not looking?...
