  • am i the only one on youtube that knows tire is spelled "tire"not tyre

  • 頭イイ(^-^)/

  • good old trick

  • @spheresector Its not a Iceland way. It this is done to fit a tire that is too narrow on a wide rim. It is done when they don't have a blast pump to rapidly inflate the small tire. The people in the video just did it because the needed to fit the tire. If you don't inflate the tire right after this, the tire will fall off the bead again.

  • @cafiremage2 You seemed to have missed the point of doing this. It's not to inflate the tire, it's to get the tire onto the rim. In order to get a large tubeless tire onto the rim you have to get air into it very fast so that the tire will expand and seal on the rim, if you try to pump it up as normal you can't get the air in fast enough to make the seal.

Once the tire is on the rim it stays there, even once the air inside cools. Now you can pump it up.

  • it works! An old iceland way to inflate tyres...ofcourse u have to adjust pressure with a pump afterwards when air cools down.without this method u cant inflate the tyre even if u have apump because the big wobbly tyre sits to loose on the rim.get it?Greetings from germany

  • Modern tires are tubeless... the air pressure inside the tire is maintained by the seal between the tire itself and the rim. In order to inflate a tire, a seal must be made between the tire and the rim, otherwise air pumped in to the tire will leak out and the tire will never inflate.

The rapid expansion of air caused by the ether burning pushes the tire outwards, making a seal with the rim long enough to further inflate the tire to proper pressure
