This video is of me and my acoustic guitar, although I'm an electric guitar guy. I'm singing the song "The Sun ain't gonna shine anymore" by Scott Walker and the Walker Brothers. This is a gorgeous, haunting song about that empty feeling of loneliness, and man, I wish I had some echo while singing this particular song. I know Scott isn't into looking back on past glories, and I like most of his recent music, but this song is by far my favorite song of his. He's my favorite vocalist, and despite the many cover versions of this song, no one can touch his definitive version.

Anyways, somehow the audio quality and video quality got reduced BADLY after I uploaded this song (I've got *brown* hair, not black). It sounded and looked much better when I filmed it, but it was filmed on a really old vhs video camera, then converted to dvd, then converted to my computer, then uploaded to Youtube.

  • a question, is the chord progression C - F - G for the verse and chorus, or am i wrong, and do you play it on standard tuning o some other ? thanks?

  • @irvingzapata Hi. I used standard tuning, and oh my God, I sing this song so much better now. Except for the "lonely, without you baby" part, everything is C, F, and G. The original recording is done with D, G, and A, though. But I saw a clip of a live show where Scott Walker sang it two steps down, from the original D down to C. He's a baritone too, so it probably made it easier to sing live, although in the studio you can sing a song 100 times til you get it right. Thanks for your question.
