Their masterpiece. One of the best goth song of the '80's.

Yes, that is a fact: I only say it has shown tendency to back-fill its bloodline with maybe a little creativity?.

Enjoy, as you find - only take care with who is what, when a significant number of 1st-gen "goth" bands from which heritage is claimed are either ambivalent, confused, or repelled by that label? There's a reason - and it's not necessarily to do with being elitist..

For example: many of her generation are as confused as I believe she is, to be told that Siouxsie Sioux, was, "goth".

LOL.. Look, I don't say you're "wrong", from whatever your perspective is - I say, from the perspective some people who were actually there: it really wasn't quite like that...

If, in 1981, you'd have walked into a kitchen and told a given bunch of Art students, for example, that Bauhaus were "goths" they may well have silently wondered what was wrong with you. "Gothic", didn't mean "goth"?...After the event, people create lineage or try to confer credibility on what became a "goth" stereotype.

    Hm, I'm not so sure...

I don't know if you were there, but I was - and something in what he says rings plenty true, according to my recollection.

What you seem to take for granted as "goth" may have been decided to be "goth", decades after it occurred - but *at the time*?..

I don't recall anything going on *really* turning into what anyone would now understand to be "goth" until the Sisters of Mercy showed up to unknowingly provide some kind of template to be endlessly copied, thereafter.
