The beauty of the women from USA has been recognized not only in this country, but also in the Universe.

The United States of America is the most successful country in Miss Universe pageant after wining that competition 7 times.
Miriam Stevenson in 1954, Carol Morris in 1956, Linda Bement in 1960, Silvia Hitchcock in 1967, Shawn Weatherly in 1980, Chelsi Smith in 1995 and Brook Lee in 1997.

It is also the country with the most semi-finalists: 23 in total, leaving only 4 girls out that list for not making the cut. They were the ones from the years 1976, 1999, 2002 and 2010.

Although USA is the head of the Top 3 countries at Miss Universe, it is the only one of that group that hasn't won again in this century.

On the other hand, the victory of Marisol Malaret of Puerto Rico over Deborah Shelton of USA in 1970 was the second one.
