I bet the pilot was happy, I'm sure it's not a everyday thing in these budget starved times to be airborne, not to say shoot down something. But why not use the gun? That would have been more sporting.

Let me put this straight! Mig's R-73 missile and MIG - 29 combined together cost a lot less then UAV or drone, so money is well spent!
And to those who thinks that MIG was too close, look at the bigger picture: camera of drone UAV could be zoomed in so it looks like MIG was too close, but actually.

@nomadnametab why would he risk getting that close... its a UAV they could easily try and crash it into the mig while hes getting close for a gun run..... they were just at war, why would they ponder and bitch to save money on one missile..... my question is was the spy plane spying...........
