Murtala Mai, MBBS, MBA, M.P.H.
Country Representative for Nigeria and Ghana, Pathfinder International Board Member, Governing Council of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Nigeria
Dr. Mai is a public health physician and health project management specialist with more than a decade of experience designing, implementing, and managing large complex programs in various sub-sectors including family planning, reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, and other infectious diseases.
Appointed by the President of Nigeria to serve a 4-year term as a board member of the Governing Council of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Mai provides support to the government of Nigeria on health policy and planning, management, and implementation of primary health care programs.
Dr. Mai has a Medical degree from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, a master's degree in public health from the University of Maastritcht, Netherlands, and a master's in business administration with a focus on international health management from the Frankfurt School of Business and Management. He is a member of the Community Health Physician Association of Nigeria, the American Public Health Association, the International Union for Scientific Study of Population and the Nigerian Institute of Management.
