  • Evidently, you don't know much about the "worst in american history" announcer. Terry Wallace has been a race caller for 37 years and called 20,191 consecutive races. Terry was calling races before Durkin called his first race. The Arkansas Derby wasn't his best call, but unless you can do better and for as long as he has, the old veteran deserves respect.

  • haha this commentator sucks

  • No one better than Tom Durkin!!!

  • A million dollar race and they couldn't get a better announcer than this guy?

  • How 'bout quit b*tching about the call and talk about the race? Archarcharch is a real racehorse. I like him. Lots. I like Nehro, too but *sigh* am tired of trainers like Steve Asmussen with their umpteen zillion bad tests and 40+ violations and on and on still getting the best horses and suffering no consequences to their careers. Nehro would be a good horse for anyone; I wish Mr. Fires had him and not Steve. Good luck in the KY Derby, Archarcharch and your decent, honest connections!

  • Well, if he's been doing it for 37 years he should be improving. Terrible job of announcing this race.

  • I agree it may not have been the best race call, but its very hard to call horses who have all the same saddle cloth colors. Especially when they are bunched up. I understand there may be tradition, but the reason for the different colors is to separate who's, who. Keeneland helps themselves by using trackus for people who aren't sure where their horse is and maybe its something for Arkansas to consider after this debacle. Sad to see Wallace taking heat for this.

  • With all due respect, could you imagine Mr. Wallace calling the Derby? Sure glad that Larry Collmus got the gig - listen to his call on the Florida Derby - night and day.

  • \\m//

  • Really bad call. Kinda painful. Nice rally though down the stretch!
