  • Great tutorials! what if i want the hair to be blowing in the wind? blowing in front of the face. How would i do that in dynamics?

  • @nedah you could either use something else like cloth but with using hair you would be best adding some hair constraints and animating them... or you could parent them to something that is getting affected Maya dynamics wind.

  • Cool tutos man i have a question can u get same quiality from maya hair as the plugin joe alter? shave and cut?

  • @Deathrideroriginal im new to shave and cut myself but from what i know, shave and cut is relay easy to make custom hair and style it where as it would be hard with Maya hair and require a lot of constraints. I think with shave and cut you can choose if its for rendering (which is low in dynamics but renders fast) or have it dynamic (which has god dynamics but increases render time). id say save and cut is a good option as its used quite a lot buy you will have to experiment with them :D

  • Sick! Awesome tutorial, thanks bro

  • Thanks a lot man:) Great stuff. Learnt some tricks

  • @youmayatutorials thank u soooo much for responding and i will try the things u mentioned

  • @amgaaaaad Also: Sometime Maya wont display things in the view port that it doesn't understand before render time like mental ray shaders so that might be why, so don't worry if it doesn't display.

Also if you map something to the shader, its classed as a texture, so you will need to go into texture view (press 6 on the keyboard). If that doesn't clear it up you can try setting the view port to hardware texturing.

Overall i wouldn't worry as its what's renders that matters :)

  • @amgaaaaad if you want to move the clump about there's a menu in the hair tab called constraints, these are what you can use to move it about, its basically a locator that controls the hair so moving the locator will affect the hair but you might have to use interactive playback to see the hair moving (the green play arrow on the hair shelf).

  • @youmayatutorials great tutos man ... but how can i moce the clump ... coz i can't just simply move it .... and i was also wondering if u can help me witj materials coz when i assign a material it shows colors in the presp view put if i put a map or something it only shows when i render it ... please if u can help me with that coz it's driving me crazy :D
