One of the natural ways to relieve gout pain is with a gout diet. This avoids foods high in purines (which create the uric acid, the cause of gout), and increases potassium-rich foods, which suppress production of uric acid.

One common food high in potassium is potatoes and here's a great way of cooking them, with the added tastebud treat and health-enhancing goodness of garlic and olive oil.

  • I had a gout attack overnight.

Today, I felt like eating bananas. Only later did I discover that bananas are rich in potasium which helps to get rid of the uric acid build up more easily. The body seems to have an intuitive sense of what it needs.
