Believe it or not, in 1981 generally, fathers weren't welcome during the delivery of their babies. The trend was starting to change at the time I worked for a TV station looking to do this story. We let them come with us to the birth of our child Erin and here is the story. I haven't ask Erin about posting this, but know it is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. I think it's great how far the hospitals have come far with this. If I ever have a baby I want my husband in the delievery room.
