Louisiana Legislature: Follies of 2008

The Louisiana Legislature voted itself an increase in pay from $16,800 to $37,500 per year. This is in addition to $143 per diem and office expenses. The governor has promised that he will not veto the bill.

We will not forgive, We will never forget. Shame on you all for selling your souls. The New York Times says Bobby Jindal is devastated. Not half as devastated as the state employees who have to live his his proposed budget cuts. They are being forced to serve more people with the same budget from a few years ago. Most of them make much more money than is reported. The pictures in the video are too kind.

Louisiana is last in everything but greedy politicians. Jindal fought Tax breaks for the working people because the state could not afford it.

Now Governor jindal is allowing greedy legislators to double their pay when their performance has left Louisiana last in everything. If we could not afford a tax break how can the state afford to double their pay. Jindal has out spent every governor before him with the help of these greedy legislators. Our governor has betrayed his own voters.
