The 65,000 square foot Nzh'o Na'ch'idle'ee Medical Center serves a population of about 3,000 people on the Jicarilla Apache Indian Reservation in northern New Mexico. Opened in 2004 outside the town of Dulce, 3 hours north of Albuquerque, it is a fully modern medical center that offers a range of services including dentistry, optometry, urgent care and x-ray, laboratory, audiology, physical therapy, behavioral health, and a pharmacy.
The Nzh'o Na'ch'idle'ee pharmacy sees an average of 100 patients per day and provides 250 to 300 medication refills per day, assisted by the use of a ScriptPRO 200. This computer-operated robotic medication dispenser is capable of labeling and dispensing up to 150 prescriptions per hour. In addition, the pharmacy staff members are very active in providing patient education on medications, nutrition, and physical fitness, all of which have been well received by the Jicarilla Apache Community.
