I agree with xakyboy. My KDL-52XBR9 just turned two years old and immediately developed squiggly horizontal lines. Warranty has expired. I called local Sony repairman. He said the ribbon cable and main board are going bad and there isn't anything that can be done to fix it. I contacted sonylistens [sonylistens@am.sony.com] and they were unsympathetic. They did offer to sell me a KDL55BX520 for $790. The BX520 is their bottom of the line TV, so I declined. Good luck with your XBR.

@jamesrschultz well, your tv is the new one you'll have no problem, the kdlw524100 120hz i had is worse .they fixed the problem.

Dude its not 6.1 its 5.1. 5 represents the normal speakers and the .1 is the woofer.
