I didn't mean scuba, S-C-B-A tanks are fireman issue fiber-aluminum composite tanks. SCBA stands for self contained breathing apparatus. I used to hydostatic pressure test these tanks at my last job. You do have a point about the temperature, i was just concerned about the blast and shrapnel.
These style tanks are incredibly strong actually, they are tested to 7500 psi.
Scuba diving tanks are generally only tested to 5000.
