Starcraft 2 - Mission 2: The Outlaws - Hard Mode All Achievements Completed

So this is the second mission in the Starcraft 2 campaign. This mission can be hard to get all achievements on in Hard mode if you are not specifically trying to. This is because one of the achievements is to beat the mission on hard mode in less than 10 minutes. Since this mission is all about building up a big enough force to destroy the enemy base, you may tend to hold back and build up a large army first, doing so will stop you from getting the 10 minutes or less achievement.

The trick on this one is to get a force of marines together 10 or so, as soon as possible, so that you can go and save the ally base. Once you save this base you will get an additional barracks that already has the upgrades needed to create medics. This way you don't have to waste the time and resources building these upgrades on your own barracks.

Another tip that will give you a nice little boost to your economy further helping you build up quickly, is to collect all the mineral and vespene pallets on the level. There are 9 of them all together, 2 are right outside your base, 3 are just north of these guarded by 3 enemy troops. When you first start this mission, send your initial batch of marines out to get these right away, that gives you a nice boost to your economy, and your marines should be able to handle the 3 soldiers guarding the pallets with ease.

The other 4 pallets are in the ally base that you rescue halfway through the mission. Make sure you get all 9 to complete the achievement.

A couple things that will help you get the achievements and also help you later:

Assign hotkeys/shortcuts to your barracks. This will help you so you can select them and create more troops without having to go back to your base.

While you are in battle, as you progress through the mission, use your hotkeys to select your barracks and set new rally points for them so that new troops are always heading to where the battle is and not waiting at your base forgotten.

Notice that as I played, I had 2 barracks in my initial base, I assigned these to the 9 key, that way, I could have both of them creating marines as I played. Putting 2 barracks in a group together has the benefit of also splitting the work between them. If I have 2 barracks selected and I create 6 marines, each barracks will create 3, this is much faster than using one barracks to create all 6. I also assigned the barracks that is in the allies base to a seperate shortcut key 8. This is so that I can have this barracks making medics for me. As I move across the map, I will hit the 9 and 8 keys and change the rally point where new troops will move to, as well as queueing up more troops, all without having to go back to the base.

Also note, that like in the previous video, when fighting groups of enemies, I will have my troops focus fire on certain enemies to kill them quicker. This can be much better then letting your troops randomly attack targets as you can take out the more dangerous enemies quickly.

Also remember, when moving your troops, use the "A" key, this will have them attack move, if you simply right click on the map, they will move without attacking any enemies they find along the way, this is a quick way to die. So make sure you are using the "A" key, so they kill any enemy troops they run into.

The achievements for this mission are:

The Outlaws: Complete all mission objectives in "The Outlaws" mission.

Cash Reward: Collect all Mineral and Gas Pallet pickups in "The Outlaws" mission on Normal Difficulty.

Be Quick or Be Dead: Complete "The Outlaws" mission on Hard difficulty in less than 10 minutes.

I'm facepalming this whole game cuz you don't use hotkeys...you que up your production...you build 6 supply depots with shift click...and you clearly are bronze or haven't even started multiplayer.

How do u do that mulitibuild i know how to do it but i can only do 1 building while my Scv is building

@raja1057 You can hold shift while telling your engineer to build, and it will allow you to tell it to build multipl, just hold shift and use the mouse to choose where you want your buildings. As long as shift is held, it will keep the currently selected building type ready. If you want to have your engineer buld multiple types of buildings, click the first one, then hold shift and select a different building type and place it, when your engineer finishes the current one, they will do the next

Just make sure to make more and more troops all the time and even when you attack the base. Its really needed for this

@TheMrMadzen Exactly, as you are attack the enemy base, use the hotkeyed barracks to constantly be creating more troops to send to the enemy base, once you have started your attack, just set the rally point for all your barrack to the middle of the enemy base.

@tree4ogduelist I've noticed "game time" and "real time" are not the same. I have a stopwatch, and using it, I always get under 10 minutes. Of my two attempts, I scored 11:23 and 10:22!! My stopwatch showed I had nearly a minute left.

I'm not sure why, but game time and real time are just not the same.

People, if you play 'Faster' or 'Fast' game speed, its slightly faster than the actual time, because it's, well, faster. That's why it's not the same. if you want it to be the same, play 'Normal' gamespeed.

@Nevadajsp i really dont understand this level when u completed it in that time did it say that time at the top of the achievement screen because i just completed it in 8 mins and 4 secs according to my stopwatch and the game timer is at 10 min 48 this is actually impossible for me to achieve
