Safin, vai fazer falta! Mas é bom saber que ele vai parar, não por lesão, e ele deixa a Dinara para representar.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I hope every thing will turn out better than even you hope for. Good luck.

it made me cry too! marat what r u doing to us????

Great video!
I love marat so much, and when i heard that he want to retire i got tears in my eyes!
I really hope it will be at least 2010, we will definitely miss him on the court :((
MARAT DONT STOP! :D

He doesn't have anything near the ability he had 2005 and prior but still he can still play very good tennis but if he keeps losing these ridiculous matches as he has down the last month, losing 3 masters series in a row from 2 breaks ahead in the decider or with a set lead then it doesn't look good.

I am okay. Thank you for the thought, I do hope he doesn't retire this year, either. DX
This video almost makes me cry. 2 reasons...
1. My father looked (yes, he passed away) just like Marat, and it's hard to bear.
2. Marat is a legend, and he still has some game in him, but if he retires, we'll miss him, dearly...

It will be a sad day when Marat retires - I am just praying it will be 2010 rather than 2009!! He definitely still has game, :)

Safins real career was from 97 to 2005, then the knee injury came and I didn't think it was that serious at first, but he kept playing and he made it worse and since he came back in 2006 he has been a different player. Safin was always a great mover, for any size of guy never mind 6'4''. It's a shame you couldnt join the Safin rollercoaster sooner because its been one hell of a ride.

I have tried to find as much as I could from his pre injury years, and you're right he was totally different. And although he seems more laboured now in his movement and mentally, there are moments of the vintage brilliance. Which is what struck me last year. One year on the rollercoaster is probably going to age me considerably!!! lol Thank you for your comment. :-)
