One of my favorite locomotives is the EMD SD80MAC. I saw them in Altoona back in 1996 when they
were new being tested between Conway and Altoona. I caught them at Altoona, Cresson and one shot
on Horseshoe Curve. I Was surprised after the Conrail split up to find them in service on CSX in Brunswick, Md area. I guess they have been out of service on CSX since late winter or spring 2009.
These are some videos I caught of them when brand new on Conrail and later working for CSX. Hope
they return to service soon and not wind up being scrapped.
Wow these are difinatly Virgin Photos of the 20 cylinder Beasts!!!! gcalco 5* video!!!!! Awesome footage of the Curve and surrounding rails!! They still work local Stuff,(check out my VIDS!) and they are used with regard to thier AC current, hauling heavy stuff like coal, but from what you say CSX is storing them ??? ARG!!! NS is using them :P Check out my vids for a few peeks, I've got hours of footage that I don't have time to upload. Will do ASAP. again, Awesome vid galco!

CSX is has been putting the big macs back in service, hopefully they will all
be back in service soon.
