I'm thinking about going as an exchange student to USA but I'm too young might be. Some people told me that, but I really wanna go to do Grade 10 abroad!! I think that it's a great expirience and opportunity to grow up at the same time that you can learn a new language and a different culture.

@eminemyomen EF stands for "Education First". EF is a privately-held company with 16 divisions that offer a range of educational programs from language training, educational travel, and academic degrees to cultural exchanges. With a mission to break down barriers in language, culture and geography. EF High School Year Abroad is an exchange program for students between 14 and 18 years old. Exchange students live with a carefully selected host family and attend a public high school abroad.

Im considering going on an exchange with EF, but I feel like it might be a little misleading because you only hear about all the really great stuff.. what about the disadvantages/more unfortunate stories? As much as I would love to experience exactly what all these students say they experienced, I just feel like it seems really happy chappy, a little too good to be true and unrealistic..Are all visits really as good as all these stories?

@DaCousins Hello, I think in the 2nd comment you've posted you made a good point. An EF High School Year is the chance to step out of your comfort zone and experience a new situation. There might be times where you miss your friends and family back home. On the other hand you have the chance to really experience life in another country, see yourself grow in ways that you might not have had the chance to had you stayed in your country

I just watched the WHOLE video, I'm so jealous of people who are actually happy in their exchange year. The only thing left from mine will be very, very dark memories - a few friends and a new language... I exagerated in my last post. But i have suffered so much emotionally on this exchange, the host family doesnt suck, we just come from two different wolrds, the school is alright, and I've met really kind people. But still EF sucks because they don't give a damn about the students, and they lie
