Tariq Ramadan (Research Fellow, European Studies Centre and Middle East Centre, St. Antony's College, Oxford University, Oxford) speaks on the topic of European Muslim Identity, at the Salzburg Seminar session entitled "Immigration and Inclusion: Rethin Beate Winkler speaks on the topic of National Identity at the Salzburg Seminar session entitled "Immigration and Inclusion: Rethinking National Identity"
What an articulate and well-spoken man. I don't always agree with his views - but what he says in this video is absolutely correct and well-reasoned.

@MyPersonalFavourites Also, why should we accept you Arabs into our lands when you Arabs would never accept us in your lands? Who do you think you are to tell us we should adopt multiculturalism because it highlights our "principles". You're not even European, and you have no grounds to speak for us, especially when your people who have come here destroy our European culture with your Islamic and Arabic culture as well as the crime your youth brings. Until Arabs accept multiculturalism, we won't

@MyPersonalFavourites I don't care what this man said, or what you think, when the adoption of European multiculturalism is predisposed to turning it's back and shitting right on top of us with these alien cultures that are not constant with European culture, as well non-European peoples of different cultures deforming the European identity, crime, rape, brought on by Arabs and blacks. Just because God says multiculturalism is good w/o reason doesn't mean European society should be destroyed.

@MyPersonalFavourites There's no reason to be multicultural in Europe. I say this because we've recently adopted tolerance and multiculturalism doesn't that that's what we should take pride in. We should take pride in our history, culture, tradition, and our separate nations. This new idea of tolerance and pluralism does not respect our peoples culture and history, and we have no reason to deform our strictly EUROPEAN culture with alien, NON-EUROPEAN cultures just because we've accepted migrants

@MyPersonalFavourites If she becomes a Hindu or something and adopts the beliefs of a Hindu and engages in Hindu traditions and celebrations, as well as wears Hindu clothing, I wouldn't consider her very European, don't you think? The farther you adopt non-European culture, the more you lack in being truly European. Unfortunately, my kinds of views are considered illiberal or racist although they unarguably have rational weight. Being European isn't like being Canadian or American. We have pride

I can tolerate this man. His views are good, and better, they have nothing to do with Islamic nationalism and spreading of the religion. Nonetheless, you cannot be European when you read the Qur'an regularly and pray to a God in Arabic and carrying out foreign traditions that are not European.

@ROBMAT2010 I don't care if Christians conver people by "money", which I doubt is fully true on your part. I'd rather have Christians in Europe rather than Muslims living off welfare and causing trouble in European nations. Muslims in Europe are lucky for narrow-minded liberals.

Christians convert people to Christianity by giving them money, muslim people convert nonmuslims to muslim by heart, faith and letting them know islam is the true religion of all the past prophets including jesus and moses.

@MrChickyBee : I know what you mean. Somehow he manages to convince the left-wingers in Europe that he is a representative of muslims while the truth couldn't be further away. Salaam.
