@Yogsoggeth The BtRL demo was standalone, it wasn't any mod. All you had to do was download and install it, no previous fs2 installations were necessary.

To play this you need to install Free Space 2 OPEN. then add this BSG Demo Mod to it. the demo is only 3 levels and the Full game is not coming out. the programmers split up I heard.

A very well made trailer. I tried to download the demo of it but I could not get it to play. I didn't find the post installation updates that were needed. Does anyone know how to get it to work? (I use a MAC. So if you could help me it would be appreciated.)

There is a demo out now. Look for Battlestar Galactica: Beyond the redline. Its a Freespace Open mod based on the original Freespace 2 game engine. Which in its own right is an amazing game.
