07-09-09_Baseball Talk (Part 1)

On this edition of Let's Talk Sports!, Donny G., Doug Fernandes, and I go with a local baseball flare as we bring in two of Southwest Florida's best prep basebal players. Centerfielder Nick Conforti and pitcher Michael Heller, both from Cardinal Mooney High School in Sarasota, join us in the studio to talk not only about their terrific high school careers, but baseball in general. Nick will be attending the University of South Florida on a baseball scholarship, while Mike, who was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates just last month, will be attending the University of Florida on a scholarship, as well. We also bring their coach, Greg Mulhollen, into the studio to chat about the great year his team had, and tell us a little more about Nick and Mike. Of course there's a lot of talk about the Tampa Bay Rays on the show, and how the AL East is shaping up just before the All-Star break. Donny throws us a curveball and asks "who's the greatest to ever play each sport?" on the heels of Roger Federer's fantastic Wimbledon title. As usual, we also take calls and have trivia questions for our viewers. Want to know who Donny says is the greatest boxer of all-time? Do we think the Rays have a shot to repeat as AL East champs?
