This is my favorite recorded live version of Cold Blood's interpretation of Willie Dixon's classic —"I just wanna make love to you" from "Fillmore: The Last Days" —Here are: Larry Field (lead guitar), Lydia Pense (vocals), Danny Hull (tenor saxophone and songwriter), Larry Jonutz (trumpet), Raul Matute (Hammond organ, piano, arranger and songwriter), Jerry Jonutz (Baritone, alto and tenor saxophone), David Padron (trumpet), Rod Ellicott (bass), Paul Saenz (Guitar), and the legendary Sandy McKee on Traps...

  • Great band, Lydia is amazing.... I took this picture, not particularly happy you used it without my permission.

  • @zzblaine Sorry 'bout the pic —Can't recall where I ran across it —May I reference your name in a photo credit...

  • @AwaTu Thanks for your reply, I made this picture at the Armadillo World Headquarters in Austin, 1974. Yes, please reference © W. Blaine Pennington. There is a copyright on the actual picture. It and several more are on my Flickr. Love this band, and this live cut.

  • @zzblaine It is done, my Friend; now included in the descriptive verbiage of the vid. Thanks, again, for your generosity...

  • GAYLORD BIRCH and that was not an accidental caps key-lock. I listen to this intro - seems like Garibaldi's playing too - in amazement.

  • @newsmanbluesman Not sure what you're referring to, as Gaylord isn't on this cut...

  • my last year of high school we heard them live in calif.. great band 71.. thanks for posting

  • @AwaTu - in college we always believed both drum kits (tower and Coldblood) were used behind Fillmore closing jam band - plus double horn section - which this is

  • OK ,figured it out here on Youtube .It looks like Sandy McKee died of cancer in 1995 .What a shame .RIP .

  • Can anybody tell me what happened to Sandy McKee ? Saw the band play a killer set @ Winterland in SF with West , Bruce and Laing headlining . If I have the right guy , Sandy did a duet with Lydia on "Down to the Bone" while playing the drums . It was one

    wraaawwwking number .

  • Hell to the Yeah Lydia is rocking !!!!

  • You couldn't even stick a thin piece of paper between these guys THAT'S HOW TIGHT THEY ARE !!

  • Lydia is a one of a kind .Bought this box set when it came out and I still got it ! These guys were my favorite on the record and the horn section kicks it unbelievable !!!

  • I'm back again! I totally agree with goobstubes comment below.

  • What an awesome band! I love bands that have a lot of horns and strings. I know the bass player Rod Ellicott, good guy, humble and very talented,

  • @ awatu you need to do a water mark on your photos or consider them public domain as i found out the hard way now all my pics have my water mark.
