United Nations, New York, 5 May 2009 - The current influenza A(H1N1) outbreak is yet another reminder of just how much countries are interconnected, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon emphasized today, urging global solidarity to tackle the virus. A threat to one country is a threat to all, requiring a collective global response, Mr. Ban told reporters in New York during his monthly press conference. Dr. David Nabarro, Senior UN System Coordinator for Influenza is answering questions to journalists on the outbreak (see the video of the entire Press Conference).

  • Threat to Sri Lanka is threat to the world. please help Sri Lanka to eliminate LTTE terrorists from the country.

They are the most dangerous terrorist organization in the world than al-quida according to FBI.

Help Sri Lanka to end the war by urging LTTE to release civilians, other than giving terrorists a ceasefire to regroup and do another massacre

  • Might does not make right.

    Nations must stop using drones.

Can't our nations figure out some way to help the Libyan people without killing them?

  • DEMOCRACY 101

    1. Let love guide your way.

    2. Love thy neighbor, near and far, to encourage fear-dissipating communication.

    3. Instead of complaining about the president, help him do his job.

    4. Turn cruel plots upside down; allow hate to be hit by its own boomerang.

    5. Fear creations such as bombs and prejudice must be dismantled by love, the only power strong enough to cast out fear.

Everyone must help to make our homeland safe. It's our responsibility as parents and as American citizens.

  • WARNING:

india, iran and pakistan are not a permanent UN members, so they can not make nuclear weapons...

if they made nuclear weapons, so the UN must disarms, embargo and invade pakistan, india and iran..because they broke the international law agreement..

the UN will take military actions or invasion against india, pakistan and iran...

  • @eastariel America's nuclear weapons aren't safe? what?

  • It's a mother's responsibility to help make her children's homeland safe ... such as by removing toxic prejudice and dismantling WMDs. They're not safe to leave lying around the homeland.

America, my homeland, has already proven itself to be untrustworthy in the matter of keeping its WMDs locked "safely" in the bomb cabinet. I personally think that America's WMD license should be revoked and its WMDs dismantled, due to its trigger-happy history. Maybe then the world will sigh happily in relief.

  • how can we stand by while they turn us into a socially democratically non-elected government of elite superetonian officails?

  • @Richgj same way other countries allow it in the interest of peace, accountability, and equality.

  • How can loyal US citizens allow non-US-elected individuals make our foriegn policy?

  • blessed are those who show mercy, they will be shown mercy

  • he's a great person, great leader but i just don't agree with u on that one
