Wow! That is so cool. I'm impressed. You really are so talented Todd!

Todd, I'm just catching up on my video watching--this is amazing! I want to make one now. I have been thinking about fretless instruments. I've never played one though.

Believe me you can! Although to be fair, it is a lot harder to mess up!!

Sounds great for a few hours work!! I had a go on a McNally strumstick 'tother day, and was mighty impressed! Prefer the 'D' option though, as the frets are a tad closer. As a Mountain Dulcimer player though, getting use to holding it like a guitar was a bit odd mind?!
What tuning have you used here?

Phil,
my Grand (D) mcnally strumstick comes in next week.....i can't wait :)
the tuning was G,D,G or close :)
i guess it's a popular one for slide playing?
thanks so much :)

Interesting instrument, Todd. Did you ever go on the Tiny Guitars site? He makes a lot of things like that. I thought he might be your brother. He gives a little "testimony", too. I have a stick dulcimer I bought from Smokey Mountain Dulcimer, Florida. He recommended a DAA tuning. I mostly play the middle string (Badly) and fill in with the other two. Sweet little instrument. Hope you enjoy your new experience. ...Bill

Hi Bill,
i've tried contacting the tiny guitars guy, but to no avail......perhaps he's busy with too many projects?....i've also talked with Blaine from smoky mountain....very nice fellow....
ultimately, i hunted and found a great deal on the grand strumstick by McNally and it should be here next week....i'm very excited....
thanks so much,
todd
p.s. oh, and i plan to make another 3 stringer, but with a big wooded art supply box.....i'm gonna try to do much better next time :)
