  • Great song and performance (for the times) by an unheralded but regionally known group. Bad management, record label and other things held these guys back. Had they had the promotion that they deserved they would have been highly successful

  • i agree.

  • It´s really a great song and it´s a kind of raw and honest garage rock from the 60s. My hobby is to rediscover all those great bands that didn´t "broke through" during this period. Listen (Youtube) for example to:

THE ZETTLERS and their versions of "Skinnie Minnie" and "Beautiful Delilah".

Really f....g good with a bloody driving beat.

THE GOLLIWOGS and the song "Tell me". Check up the singer...Yes, it´s him!!!

  • No reasonable human being (even artists) would seriously date a fangirl. If I were in the crowd back then I would slap a few of those screaming.

  • @douglasg1231 Hey Doug... just a hello from someone who was around back then. Loved the Barbarians. The Tea Party was a weekly haunt for me from '67 to '69 so I'm sure I caught your band a few times. I think you once played with the Ill Wind, who were my favorite local band... kind of followed them around like a groupie. Still hope to meet Conny some day and let her know how much pleasure their album has given me... still play it to this day.

  • the talent still exists, but the record companies and radio stations are unimaginative, conservative and corrupt.

there is plenty of great music around today, you just have to work a bit harder to find it. try going to a local show!

  • what happened to talent like this? I haven't turned on the radio in months.

  • I really believe these guys were good. Far better than anything I could've done. I've always liked that "rough Edged" live sound. Indeed, they may not have been in perfect vocal tune for a highly skilled, classically trained musician. However, this is Rock-N-Roll after all. The Guitar, Bass, and Drums sound great to me. I liked how "Moulty" just took to the Drum kit with a Jolly seeming "Take me or leave me" attitude. Many of us still prefer to take him! Thanks for the excellent post!

  • They were singing out of tune!

  • @baltrico Well, it was recorded in the mid 60's by the Barbarians..so I would say ..YES!

  • So many good groups out here that I never heard before - thanks for the posts.
