I've made it this far and I'll never stop fighting

When i first got Cira, she came from a dealer who bought her over from ireland. She was all bone, no muscle or fat. She looked horrible, she kicked, and was in a terrible state.
I hated her, i didn't want a mare or a coloured.
Within time, she started to settle down, and let me brush her and do her rugs up etc. At this point, i still hated her and put her up for sale.
One day, Cira was in the field and she trotted up to me and followed me round like a lost sheep from that day on i new we could be a team no matter what. We have built up such a strong bond over the months i have owned Cira.
We had a big hurdle in the way about 4 months ago. Cira went lame behind, we had the vet out to take x-rays etc, we found out she had a old injury that was causing her discomfort and putting pressure on her other ligaments and tendons in her hind leg. We gave her 2 months off to see if she got better, she didn't. So we sent her to a vet practice that specializes in it, she had a small op and was given more time off. This really effected our bond, because we bought Cira to compete. But within time, Cira became sound again and was allowed to be ridden again, it was the best day of my life. She was so calm and good!
Now, we have still got to be careful with what work we do with Cira, but she has improved loads. She still has regular check ups to make sure everything is okay.

Cira does anything for me; she is protective, a loving mare, and when she is in pain she still does what i ask.
I couldnt ask for a better horse!

No matter what the world throws at us, we will keep fighting!
