@Jaydensmama19 I've been in a similar situation, though my friend never went so far to hit me. Though she came close. It's tough, and it's been three months since we were friends. I have trouble letting people in and getting everything she said out of my head. Just know that you aren't alone in this!

Someone i called my best friend for 7 years ended up to be pysically and emotionally abusive. She started out a good friend but then started hitting me if i did something she viewed as wrong. she made me feel like i was always wrong. manipulated me into staying in the friendship. pulled me away from everyone in my life. beat it into my head that she is the only person who cares. I cared so much about her and so desperately wanted to be loved and cared about that i stayed. i recently got out.

This song is about a woman trapped in a very emotionally abusive relationship. She knows in her mind that she needs to leave him, but her heart she still loves him so much and just hopes that one day he'll change.
I think it's a situation that a lot of women can relate to, and hat's why this song is so touching. Powerful.
