  • I'd say that being evil is not a state of the "will", but rather a state of the heart. Genesis 6:5 defines the nature of man pretty clearly:

"Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. "

The will is a mere slave of the heart, if you think the will is free at birth and upon that premise you reject original sin, then you might be a false convert, I agree with Tony Miano.

  • @aldoivan16 there "heart" is a metaphor for the "will".

  • Don't play stupid, you know that Calvinists, Lutherans and other Original Sin believing Christians don't believe that mans FLESH is sinful, rather we believe that flesh in scripture is used to refer to the sinful INCLINATION of our natures from BIRTH until REBIRTH, We do not believe that FLESH is sinful, rather we believe that man has an inclination toward ONLY SIN from birth until rebirth.

  • @charliejunfan1 is our conscience part of our nature? And does our conscience incline us towards sin or towards holiness? See Romans about the Gentiles which do by nature the things contained in the law, because of the conscience.

  • The argument is that possibly David's mother was involved in sin, possibly in adultury. It is a clear reference to his mothers sin, not Davids.

  • By eating from the tree of knowledge (Adam's disobedience) He provided all men with the occasion or opportunity of being sinners. By Christ dying on the tree (Christ's obedience) He provided all men with the occasion or opportunity of being righteous.

  • This guy is sharing his own ideas but the Bible says otherwise. Romans 3:10-18 says none are righteous, none seek after God. Romans 5:12 also confirms this guy is wrong. Tony Miano is correct and is using scripture. This guy is using is own ideas.

  • What is the point of even mentioning Adam then? The contrast is between the sin that came through Adam and the righteousness that comes from Christ by faith.

  • Judicially you are right, in God's eyes we are Holy because of Christ's perfect obedience, but beyond judicially we are unholy holy people, when we choose according to the flesh it is sin, when we choose according to God's Holy Spirit it is good.

  • Angels became reprobates because they sinned against a great deal of light. There was nothing God could do for them.

Nobody is a sinner and a saint at the same time. A sinner is an unholy person, a saint is a holy person. You cannot be a good fruit with bad fruit or a bad tree with good fruit. All men are either totally depraved or entirely sanctified.

  • "all have sinned" means all have personally chosen to violate God's law. Men are sinners by choice, it is their own fault.

  • Romans5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

How does it mean anything other than what it says? lol
