UFC Live: Shields vs Ellenberger is an upcoming mixed martial arts event to be held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on September 17, 2011 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The event will be the seventh that the organization has held in Louisiana and first since UFC 37 in 2002.

The main event between Jake Shields and Jake Ellenberger was expected to be the first five round non-title fight in UFC history, but the fight will instead be contested at three rounds.

Mackens Semerzier was expected to face Mike Lullo at the event[4], but pulled out of the event on August 31[5] and was replaced by Robert Peralta.

DaMarques Johnson was expected to face Clay Harvison at the event, but pulled out of the bout with an injury on August 31 and was replaced by Seth Baczynski.

Daniel Roberts was originally scheduled to face TJ Waldburger, but pulled out due to an injury and was replaced by Mike Stumpf.

What's up with all the Benoist nuthuggers? Lance was average at best and barely escaped the fight with a win. Just because you know a fighter, doesn't mean anything. Just be happy your boy won.

It was anything but an ass kicking and exposing of a "lesser skilled fighter." It was close and Benoist now needs a nose job.

I don't care much for Riddle. I did a bunch of Benoist's fights on YouTube prior to the fight and wasn't that impressed. Well, not enough to pick him over a very average Riddle.

Alsi, he's a 7-1 favorite and it's not due to hype. Before the fight, everyone HOPES he will lose and comes up with ways it will happen. After the fight, everybody makes excuses and talks bad about his opponent and his performance.

@zaggers77 Mayweather is a master. He isn't just a fighter; he's a friggin' master. He calculates your movement, he graphs your reactions to certain moves, and then develops a solution in fight on how to neutralize you and at that point there is nothing his opponents can do because he has them figured out completely. He's been doing it for too long, there are only so many moves you can do in boxing and Mayweather knows em all. Reminds me of Rickson. Dude was truly born to be a boxer.

How are you going to call Seth Baczynski vs Clay Harvison a weak fight? wow man that takes some real nerve to really call any fight weak but if you did watch it, it was an exciting fight and Seth pulled out the victory. Next time dont look at the guys records and just guess homey.
