@Legionbass19 "Future enslavement and totalitarianism"? Sounds like a lupe fiasco song, or "makeshift patriot" by Sage Francis, or half of immortal technique's work. Hip hop is Full of social commentary, and spiritual/philosophical musings, from Talib Kwalie's "I try", to common's G.O.D, and countless others.You can't judge an entire spectrum of music, based on exposure to one narrow aspect of it. Is Rush the same as King Crimson, just because people call both "prog rock"?

@Legionbass19 you don't know what you are talking about. First of all, rap isn't hip hop. Secondly, saying either are all full of hate, proves how little you understand either genres. Listen to "life of Brian" by the processions and then say it's hate-filled, or "Secret splendor" by buck 65, "music" by erik sermon, "Brenda's got a baby" by tupac & Elton John, "Love song" by K-os or thousands of others.
