On Sunday, October 9, 2011 at 9:27 p.m., police responded to C&C Discount Store located at 10584 Old St. Augustine Rd. in reference to an armed robbery.

Investigation revealed an unknown black male entered the store and walked extremely fast to the rear of the business. The clerk started to walk towards that direction to see what was going on when she observed three more unknown males emerge from the rear of the business. The three males stood guard in the store while the original suspect placed a gun to her head, grabbed her throat and made her walk behind the counter. The suspect demanded money and took her purse.

All of the suspects fled the business through the back door.

We have recently had a rash of business robberies with some similarities since September 30, 2011. The suspects (two-four black males) are wearing masks and gloves. They usually enter the businesses from the rear.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is asking businesses to not leave their doors unsecured and be more cognizant of their surroundings.

Mojo Bar-B-Que -- 1607 University Boulevard
