@Royalorgans Actually neither one are exceptionally singers. They couldn't sing Monteverdi or Handel to save their lives. I guess if you want Puccini....

So, becuase this is miced like a rock concert, were hearing a recording of music palyed over speakers? Stil, we're in a better position than the original audience who probably wanted to hear Flemming sing, rather than what is effectively a slightly delayed recording of her voice through speakers (god Knows what the engineers did to it!).

@Royalorgans You left out Montserrat Caballe.

¡Qué maravilla! Gracias por la música, por este coro, esta orquesta y esta solista. Y algunos dicen que no existe Dios... Como si nosotros solos fuéramos capaces de armar tanta belleza. Gracias de nuevo.

ME ENCANTA

@Royalorgans if you'll take a look back at my comment I *NEVER* said Renee Fleming was better than Joan Sutherland. I just said she was one of the greatest opera singers in the world - which, in my OPINION, is true.
-
@PianistandFencer well what makes you think that Renee Fleming version is better than Joan Sutherland version. Renee Fleming coloratura is not good as Joan Sutherland.
-
@Royalorgans Sure have.
-
@PianistandFencer Have you ever heard Joan Sutherland version of singing this song.
-
@Royalorgans umm...you, sir, obviously don't understand the definition of an opinion. Renee Fleming, regardless of what you may think - someone who spends his time criticizing performances and comparing opera singers because of their voices or techniques, about both of which I'm sure you know next to nothing, is one of the greatest opera singers of our generation, and there are millions of other people who would gladly run to a performance of hers.
Beautiful! Gets me in the Christmas spirit...gotta make it through Thanksgiving first :P

How come this video only have around 350 views?! This is seriously the best Joy to the World I've ever heard. The Tabernacle choir and Renée Fleming - both of them are very famous and should (one would think) bring in many views, but no... I don't understand.
