The materia system is just as broke and cheap as Junction. In terms of that gameplay element, FF9 is the best.

out of Zidane and tidus, i must say zidane is so much beter in like hes not annoying, and just laugh likes his eyes are fallen out lol but dont get me wrong i do like tidus ALOT! but zidane is my man

The first 3-4 hours of this game, which I am playing for the first time, were mind numbingly boring. Just now past this sequence and I like this game as much as 7! The first 3 hours were just a playable friggen movie though.

And yeah, let's forget ff8 ever happened....

This scene left me both depressed (for Garnet's sake) and raging (at Brhane, and her ... assistant, once he was revealed). It's a sad thing when you see the first safe haven of the game be destroyed so harshly.

IX is way better then VII. yes, materia was cool, but come on. the graphics were terrible, the music was way too depressing. the hero was emo, couldn't even notice Tifa, and the game just bored me. all that is opposite for IX. great graphics, cheery music. plus, Zidane knows woman. who could forget the cargo ship? "oooh soft!"
