kendo was actually used in wars in japan where as fencing is a sport and was never used in real combat

Contact with a sword meaning verry little in cintact, The type and placement of contact is what seperates Fencing and Kendo form the real work of combative swordsmenship

Fencing is better. At least there is none of this wa ki do wa B.S. A hit is a hit!
In any sword fighting if the sword touches you, you should get a point regardless.
