How To Root Motorola Atrix 4G 2.2.2/2.2.1

Instructions For 2.2.2:
1. Enable USB debugging and plug phone into PC (make sure drivers are installed).
2. Check USB connection as None.
3. Run Gingerbreak.
4. Open Gingerbreak on phone and click Root.
5. Open SuperOneClick and click allow non market apps after rooting.

Instructions For 2.2.1:
1. Enable USB debugging and plug phone into PC (make sure drivers are installed).
2. Check USB connection as None.
3. Open SuperOneClick
4. Click root.
5. After rooting is finished click Allow Non-Market Apps.
6. If some error message is displayed in SuperOneClick then re-try and end the process ADB.exe via task manager.

I can root my phone fine because I see Super User, but when I use SuperOneClick to allow non market applications it says FAILED because it says it requires my phone to be rooted. (???) Please help. Thanks in advance!

What are the (dis)advantages of rooting the Atrix???

For e.g, with the Backflip (motus), by rooting you can update it to Gingerbread (2.3.3). You can't update pass 2.1 without rooting
