My first reaction to this video was "Oh, my God. Isn't this just a video of people getting blown up?"
-
On the anniversary of the first successful nuke...from someone who nearly died from down winders...I find this video sadly appropriate.
-
Woah, nice time! And I never thought about a fusion between this song and the nuclear "sun" light! Brilliant!

i like this song!!!!

Hell yeah John would have approved, after he got over the horror. I am a cancer survivor almost 5 year but LUCKY! I got cancer because I played in the dirt in my back yard in Nevada when I was 3 years old while they tested a nuke just a short distance away from our home...Our government calls it downwinders. It was the summer of 1963. My dad died way to early in 2003 from pancreatic cancer. Down winders. this shit is not done...little darlin.

Quite frankly I think everyone having fits here is missing two points. First of all, nuclear explosions are basically tiny suns, so it fits on that level, as a basic pun. And second of all, the contrast between the images and the actual message of the song makes a far more poignant point than using some 'appropriately dark' song would. Much more of an impression is left on the psyche, obviously. I think John Lennon himself would have approved.

@Alizara75 Congratulations, you win first place for best comment. I get the impression that some other people here must have spent their entire lives living in Disney Land, or something. Or maybe I was just raised in the military.

I would have used "the manhattan project" by Rush, but..... whatever makes you happy. I know this is taking "artistic license" but i think is a kind of perverse interpretation of this song.
