A developer (Palmer Investments) wants to build a residential neighborhood on a mountaintop in Santa Clarita, California, and is asking for more than $500 million in tax-payer dollars to build a commuter-train station inside the mountain underneath, to be accessed via a shaft. Environmentalists and transit advocates are saying no and fighting to stop it.
