  • Live solos are about playing what you feel at any given moment. This is what I did. It's expression. The song is a fast paced rock track not a slow blues. The main set should be played tastefully and for the songs. The solo is time to let rip!!! My job as a drummer is to also excite the crowd, impress them and send them home with a smile on their face...I'm confident that I did that at this show!!!!!

  • Man Darby Todd is amazing, he should be getting the exposure of the big name drummers, totally brilliant solo!

  • Animal. You should be kept indoors.

  • ah-mazing. are people actually posting here "nnnnnh... it's not the blues... nnnnnnnnnnnnnnh" yea, i think he can handle the blues. amazing.

  • @DarbyTodd You don't piss me off mate – you're a supreme percussionist . If you're up for a gig at any time give me a shout. Check out on myspace site under swampsnakeband. For some reason youtube doesn't allow website to be exchanged?

    Keep it cool. Cheers, Kev

  • @KTEELKTEEL I better not reply to this for fear of pissing off all the blues artists I play with!!!

  • I particularly like the 'Jingle Bells' riff at 1:33!!!

  • Hey, playing blues as a drummer can be pretty boring, so a solo must be something of a relief!

  • @baliwkanoh666

'blues are supposed to be really slow'

Only if it a slow blues solo. Not all blues is slow.

  • Hey! Not meaning to be rude by saying this (as my 'blues' drummer knowledge is fairly limited) However, are you and your band professional? Certainly sounds like it. Just curious :)

  • stop whining, it works dosnt it, so why complain
