My favorite townscapes of IWAKUNI, JAPAN(岩国の風景集)

Iwakuni is a small city near Hiroshima. Its most famous landmark is "Kintai Bridge."
There are many beautiful parks, flowers and buildings around the wooden bridge with five elegant arches.

Iwakuni is also famous for its Renkons(Lotus Roots).
Try "Renkon Burger" served at a cafe close to Iwakuni Station.

I hope you like this video and visit Iwakuni someday.

  • 30 years have flown by since my stay in Iwakuni, it was a wonderful place!!

  • Iwakuni was my first (and best) deployment with the SeaBees. Was there in 1973 to 1974. Loved the bridge there. It's amazing to see this and how much it has changed. The people there were wonderful.

  • I remember Iwakuni when the only paved road lead from the Main Gate to 4 Corners, then 3 Corners, hang a right and go to Koimasu! I hung out at or near the Jinja in Koimasu and ate almost everynight at a little Resaurant named Mike's, which was own and run by the Watanabe members! Watched Sumo wrestling on a 13" B&W TV and loved it! Met the most kind and respectful people there! Memories remain for ever! Will be returning in May, to walk the streets once more & say Sayonara!

  • @Geiger215 thanks, when i do go back, maybe we can have a drink.

  • I hope you enjoyed your life here.

    Thank you for your comment.
