In 1966-67, Jim created two short films for a contest at Montreals Expo 67. One of these was "Ripples." Shot on 16mm film, Ripples explored motion and movement and was accompanied by an electronic score created in collaboration with jazz composer Raymond Scott. Shot in January 1967, Ripples featured an architect (played by Sesame Street colleague Jon Stone) tossing pebbles into water making ripples.

It illustrates the ripple effect. Look at Jim for a moment. He had and idea for something. We'll go with Fraggle Rock. He pitched the idea and more people got involved. The show aired- kids and adults watched it and were inspired by it. His idea grew into something wonderful by the ripple effect. That is what this video shows. The architect explores the ripple effect like changes he and others have made to society.
