Police in Mombasa have netted bhang with an estimated street value of 800,000 shillings only a fortnight after another haul whose value was estimated to be 7.6 million shillings was netted in Homa Bay County. Police say the latest interception of a drug haul is the result of an ongoing crackdown on the illicit narcotics trade in the country with Mombasa as one of its focal points. However as Chris Wang'ombe tells us what is worrying is that the increased trafficking of bhang could be a pointer that more consignments are making their way to Mombasa to meet a growing demand for low grade drugs following a police crackdown on hard drugs.
@suensmith Those arrested were just mules ... you can clearly see that they do not have the means nor the sophistication required to operate with such a massive quantity of drugs .... someone else is smiling ... and those that smile include the backers in State House, Vigilance House and the AG Chambers...
