Yes, I know I still take damage. It has been pointed out to me various times.
Let me know what you guys think, because you can do it with other characters and with other moves. Here are some links to videos showing the same cancel with different characters/moves.

To people who mention damage: At least you don't go flying off and you keep your position. It's an advantage regardless of the damage you receive.

sometimes, this happens when I'm toon link. Why does this happen though? What's the logic?

I think this is realy good cuz useally it throws u out of the camera but this time it dosent so this is usefull in brawl with slow motion and its easy to get with this time clock that slows time down

how do you use the final smash?
I get the ball and just press random buttons till it activates.

why not just use zelda's epic fireball and get the smash ball before link can? xD
