I was compelled to make this in response to the thinspo vids out there. This is a look at what the beauty standard was. Women seen on screen and magazine had real women's bodies, thin or thick it was all sexy. Now it seems there is only one standard, which is sad. And I had to ask would someone like the legendary Marilyn Monroe even get a call back in this day and age?

Marilyn's body type was not bad. However, I did not think she was that pretty. Heather Lankenkamp is more of a beauty. Marilyn's hair was not naturally blonde, either, lol. So doesn't that make her a fake? FAKE BEAUTY!

If her hair is the only thing about her that was "fake", then that's fine with me. Women have been faking their hair colour for centuries. Now if she had crazy plastic surgery like many celebs today, then I would be forced to agree with you.

But you missed the point of this video, it's not about fake beauty. It's about negative body images that have become the reigning standard, and I wondered how someone like Marilyn would fare with this standard.

@aunki girls since the dawn of time been going to extremes to change their body and look.even marilyn monroe did stuff like hair color and makeup.girls today still do the same.Now some people go to plastic surgery and thats just another extreme.Back in the day girls would wear corsets for an hourglass look that in time changed their body forever.this cause serve breathing probs.All body images are negative cause not everyone can live up to them.Marilyn also gave high standards for girls.

I disagree with you on how marilyn wouldnt be able to compete with celebrities today as she would be considered overweight. Her bodytype is comparable to that of Penelope Cruz or Scarlett Johansson and both of them are considered to be some of the most sexy celebrities out there.
